It was only Jones’s second start this season, whose 5-year-old son Luca died a year and a half of ago of leukemia. (Jones and his wife just had another baby, Nico, ten days ago.) Liverpool won the game 2-1. You always want the club you support to win, of course, but it was really special to see a hard-working, likable third-string keeper play a very good game in goal in front of 80,000 people.
