John Green drew me a turtle denying its turtleness (via Project for Awesome). I’d like to name it - any suggestions?
Man I promised these would suck, and I delivered.

Day 2 of the Project for Awesome rolls on. I’m taking a brief break from hosting the livestream to tell you:
1. GO WATCH THE LIVESTREAM. :)
2. Vote for your favorite videos and charities at projectforawesome.com.
3. Donate to the Project for Awesome’s indiegogo page including t-shirts, artwork, and an 20,000-word e-book by me. We have some great perks up right now.

Tonight on the Project for Awesome, Ethan Newberry, Michael Aranda, and I created a song…it’s called “Hank’s Face” and it’s available as the cheapest P4A perk at only $5. It’s also amazing and whenever I listen to it I fall down and can’t get up.
The Project for Awesome has already raised more than $260,000, and we’re just getting started. (The p4a runs through noon on Wednesday.) And there have already been more than 300,000 comments on thousands of p4a videos.
There are many great rewards if you donate through indiegogo, and 100% of proceeds go to support the p4a charities that YOU choose based on your votes at projectforawesome.com.
We’ve been doing this for six years, and this is by far the most successful p4a ever. Thank you to everyone who has commented, made videos, shared videos, voted, and donated.
Sometimes it feels like the YouTube community has changed, or gone away. But today I’m reminded that we are strong, and we aren’t going anywhere.
Save the Children has been with nerdfighteria for more than four years now, and they are made of awesome.
Also click around and watch lots of p4a videos and vote for your favorites. YOU decide where the money goes.
John is starting a band called “Kittens for Nipples”. #P4A
Switch the cats to birds and we could properly admire John’s boobies.
I don’t know what to say about this, except:
1. Watch the Project for Awesome livestream.
2. This happened because the p4a Indiegogo reached $100,000 in donations (and we are just getting started!) So who knows what will happen next if you keep donating.
3. Vote for your favorite videos and charities at projectforawesome.com.

Sorry for just having sent out bogus links. HERE ARE THE GOOD ONES:
My The Fault In Our Stars cake made for me for my Birthday. :)
The last thing unrelated to the Project for Awesome you will see on this blog for a couple days.
This is Cassie Clare here and I want to tell you about the Project for Awesome.
Well, okay, it’s actually Holly Black posing as Cassie Clare. But Cassie DOES want to tell you about the Project for Awesome. She’s just off in a tropical paradise, so she’s given me her password. I promise to use it only for good! Like Sarah did!
First of all, the Project for Awesome is a charity drive where the YouTube community comes together to raise both awareness and money for charities. It’s been going on every December since 2007, was started by John and Hank Green, and raised over $70,000 last year.
And THIS year, Cassie is doing something special for it.If you donate $15.00 over here, you will automatically be entered into a pool of names to win what we are calling the GET KISSED OR GET KILLED IN CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE prize. If you win Kiss/Kill, you get, your name in City of Heavenly Fire. You can choose to get kissed or killed, but the person who kisses or kills you will be a surprise! The Project is off to an appropriately awesome start and we’re really excited to be a part of it. From her tropical location, Cassie raises a pink drink with an umbrella in our general direction.
18 of the sexiest (not really) men of YouTube come together in this amazing 12 month calendar designed by Karen Kavett with all your favorite nerdy holidays included. Available now at the Project for Awesome IndieGoGo Campaign.
I have to say, I’m looking pretty fierce in this.
The p4a campaign is already over $45,000, and the Project for Awesome hasn’t even technically begun yet. I’m going to bed now so I can wake up super early and get my video and the livestream ready. See you tomorrow!

Yay! Enjoy your wheezywaiter ugly sweater Christmas card!
But on this topic:
Parents are right to be concerned about charitable initiatives on the Internet. But the Project for Awesome is not a scam. We’ve been doing this for six years. We’ve distributed money to organizations like Save the Children, kiva, Partners in Health, the Harry Potter Alliance, and many more.
Here is Save the Children bragging about the p4a; here is kiva.org celebrating their Project for Awesome donation last year; here is the official YouTube blog talking about it.
100% of the proceeds from the Indiegogo campaign will be distributed to charities chosen during the Project for Awesome. The Foundation has no overhead—everyone who works on it, from the Board of Directors to the people who pack up calendars and mail them to you*—volunteer their time.
So donate, if you can afford to! The indiegogo is already over $25,000, and hopefully this will be the biggest and best p4a yet. And remember, EVERY DOLLAR donated up to $50,000 will be matched by our generous anonymous donors. Yay!
* Full disclosure: In many cases, the people mailing calendars and the Board of Directors are the same people.
Hey there, George Watsky, you brilliant and beautiful and philanthropic heartthrob.
(There are many amazing perks, some of which aren’t being rolled out immediately, but you have to donate multiple times to get more than one of them because of the way indiegogo works. But yes. Get all of them! 100% of proceeds go to Project for Awesome charities. Check it out!)
I had literally no interest in this perk, but then they chose THE ONE YOUTUBE MAN that would convince me otherwise and hnnng take my money.
What about me in a toga, Margaret? IS THAT WORTH NOTHING TO YOU?
